Information

Heidi's Lemon Ginger Tonic is a caffeine-free herbal tea blend of ginger root and lemon pieces. Naturally tart, the lemony flavor is bright and potent. The ginger adds a fiery bite that creates a soothing warmth and leaves behind a lingering spicy tingle. A spoonful of honey sweetens and mellows the flavors while adding an extra dose of wellness to the cup.

This combination of lemon and ginger is packed with antioxidants and flavonoids along with anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial wellness properties to give an invigorating boost to the immune system. Commonly used in alternative medicine to help soothe a sore throat, ease nausea, settle an upset stomach, alleviate respiratory symptoms, and improve circulation. This blend was formulated for revitalization and recovery. Each sip is filled with a clarifying zing of flavor, lightly sweet yet tart, and a relaxing warmth of peppery spice.

This Cold and Flu tea is named after one of our quality control officers who was also the "mom" of the office. If she noticed someone showing signs of a slight sniffle or overheard the sounds of coughing in the main office, she would take initiative to check on that person. This would usually lead to her brewing them a batch of her home-remedy herbal tea blend. Everyone in the office has had a cup of Heidi's Lemon Ginger Tonic to fortify them against cold and flu symptoms. This tea is a warm hug from Heidi that is filled with love and well wishes.

Teabag Details

PRESENTATION: Clear view woven pyramid tea bags are manufactured from the plant based material PLA. This is a backyard compostable and biodegradable material woven from strands derived from corn or sugarcane.. The string is also PLA, while the tag is composed of paper and PLA material. The teabag and string material are certified compostable based on the international standard ISO 14855 and the European standard EN 13432. Teabags are vacuum packed in a custom bag that controls atmospheric pressure. This bag protects them from moisture, oxygen, and light.

Brewing

HOT BREWING METHOD:
Bring filtered or freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 teabag for each 7-9oz / 200-260ml of fluid volume in the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the teapot. Cover and let steep for 3-7 minutes according to taste (the longer the steeping time the stronger the tea). Add a dash of honey for sweetness.

ICED TEA BREWING METHOD (Pitcher): (To Make 1 Liter/Quart):
Place 6 slightly heaping teaspoons of loose tea or 6 tea bags into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Using filtered or freshly drawn cold water, boil and pour 1¼ cups/315ml over the tea. Steep for 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the tea or removing the tea bags. Add ice and top-up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to increase the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water. (Note: Some luxury quality teas may turn cloudy when poured over ice. This is a sign of luxury quality and nothing to worry about.)

ICED TEA BREWING METHOD (Individual Serving):
Place 1 slightly heaping teaspoon of loose tea or 1 tea bag into a teapot for each serving required. Using filtered or freshly drawn cold water, boil and pour 6-7oz/170-200ml per serving over the tea. Cover and let steep for 5 minutes. Add hot tea to a 12oz/375ml acrylic glass filled with ice, straining the tea or removing the bags. Not all of the tea will fit, allowing for approximately an additional ½ serving. Sweeten and/or add lemon to taste. A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to increase the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted. (Note: Some luxury quality teas may turn cloudy when poured over ice. This is a sign of luxury quality and nothing to worry about!)
