Rooibos is an environmentally sensitive plant that is grown commercially only in South Africa’s Cederberg district. The soil conditions, rainfall and sunshine of the district cannot be duplicated anywhere else on earth. Environmental controls in the area are stringent, as growers are vigilant about making sure the Cederberg ecosystem isn’t tampered with or altered. Rooibos is caffeine free, and loaded with polyphenols, and naturally occurring iron, zinc, fluoride, calcium, and magnesium.
