Pyramid tea bags are manufactured from Metbiolon, a backyard compostable and biodegradable material woven from strands derived from corn starch.

Classic tea bags are constructed of 100% biodegradable paper. If bleached, it is water-bleached paper.

(Jets of water are used to clean the raw wood pulp rather than chlorine.)
